Production Supervisor

POSITION: Production Supervisor
REPORTS TO: Director of Operations

Duties include the following
Lead RIT’s manufacturing group to ensure that products are built on time, within cost targets, and quality standards are achieved. Supervise the activities of production personnel including resource management, workflow & assembly methods.

Responsibilities

  • Personnel Related
    • Coach/lead Manufacturing Team Members
    • Train personnel on job duties, encourage personal growth and development
    • Prepare input for performance and 6-month goal reviews for Leads and Technicians
    • Conduct other supervisory responsibilities for team such as, but not limited to, timesheet review, scheduling, and vacation requests
  • Production Related:
    • Direct, supervise and monitor activities of team members to maximize productivity
    • Monitor WIP materials in the Manufacturing areas to ensure timely completion
    • Actively manage production planner’s workbench
    • Verify completion and accuracy in production reporting in support of data integrity
    • Enforce compliance with company 5s policy to keep labs and working areas safe and efficient.
    • Encourage continuous improvement activities and seek opportunities and initiate action for process improvement
    • Serve as resource for team members to drive improvement opportunities
    • Gain a technical understanding of RIT’s products
    • Analyze and resolve work problems and assist workers in solving work problems
    • Create environment for feedback from manufacturing to engineering regarding builds; capture lessons learned for future builds
  • Provide timely corrective actions for quality issues
    • Take Ownership of resolving quality issues
  • And other duties as assigned by manager.

Education/Experience:

  • Minimum Associate’s Degree in technical or production area preferred
  • Some supervisor/management experience
  • 2+ years of experience in a high tech manufacturing environment
  • Problem solving, team-oriented leader, self-motivated, good organizational skills
  • Experience with ERP system – Preferably with Syteline (INFOR)
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing Principles and Tools
