Background

The Restriction on Hazardous Substances initiative (RoHS) has been in force for several years, limiting the allowable amounts of various toxic elements in plastics and consumer goods. In addition to the toxic metals, chlorine was added to the list in 2010. EDXRF is an accepted analysis technique for the rapid screening of the hazardous elements according to RoHS norms.
