FR-E+ DW SuperBright™ dual wavelength generator
The FR-E+ DW SuperBright is the only rotating anode laboratory X-ray generator featuring dual wavelengths. Rigaku has developed a dual wavelength
(copper/chromium) source that enables enhanced home lab single wavelength anomalous diffraction (SAD) phasing while retaining traditional data
collection capabilities. Chromium radiation (2.29 Å) doubles the available anomalous signal from elements such as S, Ca and Se as compared to the
signal available with copper radiation (1.54 Å). This enhanced signal opens
new possibilities in phasing for macromolecular crystallography leading to de novo protein structure determinations that were previously not possible.
The FR-E+ DW SuperBright is part of the highest flux chromium source available, enabling better diffraction and more accurate anomalous signal
measurement from the widest range of samples.
