Catalyst analysis by XRF
Catalysts are substances that can cause a change in the rate of a chemical reaction without itself being consumed in the reaction; the changing of the reaction rate by use of a catalyst is called catalysis. X-ray fluorescence (XRF), a commonly employed technique across industries using either heterogeneous or homogeneous catalysts, is used to determine heavy metal concentrations or stoichiometry and/or to quantify poisoning agents. Rigaku's technology and know-how provide a number of unique solutions for these determinations:
- Available dual target tube
- Mapping to determine sample homogeneity
- Small spot analysis
- Standardless analysis
- Inverted optics for analysis without contamination
- Enhanced selectivity (resolution) for rare earth elements (REE)
