Environmental analysis by XRF
In the characterization and remediation of contaminated soils, sediments, and sludges, XRF analysis provides quick and reliable assays. X-ray Fluorescence is a standard technique recognized by the U.S. EPA and is routinely employed to determine heavy metal concentrations (RCRA metals) in soils and sediments.
But in addition to soils, Rigaku XRF spectrometers may use used with the UltraCarry technique to quantify trace metals in aqueous (water) samples down to part-per-billion levels. Rigaku's technology and know-how provide a number of unique solutions for environmental determinations:
- PPB level detection in water samples using the UltraCarry method
- Inverted (tube above) or standard (tube blow) optics
- Small sample analysis
- Alternative (optimized) tube targets
- Easy sample preparation
- Low detection limits
- Transportable or mobile lab configuration (for selected instruments)
- Accurate analysis without standards
