10-Day repeatability data from the optimized Mini-Z Sulfur Analyzer on a 1 ppm ultra-low sulfur Conostan diesel standard
The petrochemical industry has been put under more and more pressure to certify low sulfur content in all types of fuels. The reasoning behind these tighter regulations is to ensure the least amount of negative environmental impact. The current restriction has set the maximum allowable sulfur at less than 15 ppm, with trends heading towards less at 5 ppm allowed in the near future. This new range of certification is what is denoted as "ultra-low." The Rigaku Mini-Z Sulfur Analyzer (Figure 1) is a specialized instrument capable of obtaining an LLQ (Lower Limit of Quantification) of less than 1 ppm sulfur consistently.
