Semi-quantitative analysis of customer sample

We analyzed a customer's unknown sample with Rigaku's ZSX Primus II WDXRF spectrometer's SQX semi-quantitative analysis package.

The sample, a ground powder without binder, was pressed at 18 tons pressure in a 35 mm backing cup, analyzed on the Rigaku ZSX Primus using the very simple EZ Scan semi-quantitative analysis routine, only taking approximately 8 minutes for the analysis. The scan is shown in Figure 1.

It turned out that their test sample was, in fact, NIST-679 Brick Clay. Table 1 compares the SQX results to the NIST-679 certificate:

The Rigaku ZSX Primus is a 4KW WDXRF system that, in addition to bulk analysis, offers mapping and small spot analysis (spatial resolution of 0.5 mm), with an analytical capability from B - U.
