Inventory Specialist (Charlestown, MA)

POSITION:                  Inventory Specialist

LOCATION:                 Charlestown, MA

Newton Scientific Inc. is looking for an Inventory Specialist.  This position requires a high sense of urgency and service to the warehouse customers, specifically Manufacturing, Shipping/Receiving and Supply Chain. This position is a significant contributor to the accuracy of our inventory and attention to detail is critical. This position performs all cycle counts, material/stockroom movements and transactions for components, including storage, kitting, and inventory management. This is a full time, hourly position. 

Qualifications:

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • 5 years inventory control work experience 
  • Comprehensive knowledge of warehouse operations and inventory management
  • Experience performing material movements and cycle count in ERP software
  • Infor Syteline (CSI) is preferred 
  • Able to follow detailed written and verbal instructions.

Responsibilities:

  • Exercise proper safety practices when lifting or moving product or using equipment and tools.
  • Move product from receiving to designated inventory location.
  • Perform ERP transactions
  • Store product in designated area.
  • Utilization of warehouse equipment including pallet jacks
  • Maintain the stockroom, storing components in an orderly and appropriately
  • Issue parts following First in First Out (FIFO), rotating stock as needed
  • Kitting and delivery of components to the production floor
  • Utilize Kanban inventory system, reporting shortages as needed
  • Perform routine cycle counts and physical inventory
  • Assist Supply Chain with purchasing non-inventory, floor stock and lab supplies
  • Maintain an orderly work area, with clear clean isles and walkways.  Trash removal and cleaning as needed.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as required to fulfill job function or as assigned
