POSITION: Documentation Control Specialist

Job Description:

The primary responsibility of this position is to provide services for engineering and operations. In fulfilling this duty to assist engineering and operations with managing information related to parts, bills of material, releases, work instructions, training records. and changes (change management and engineering documentation used to build, maintain and service the product). As part of the engineering team, the Documentation Control Specialist will serve a key role in the Quality Management System.

Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate Engineering Change Orders from inception through implementation
  • Collect, organize, and distribute Change Control documentation
  • Prepare Change Control submissions for approval
  • Post Change Control documentation in various server locations to facilitate the document review, approval, and release
  • Observe operations and record actions to create work instructions
  • Issue general notifications related to the status of submitted change orders and requests
  • Prepare periodic reports depicting workload and status
  • Maintain employee training records 
  • General Documentation Services
  • Prepare copies of various engineering documentation
  • File or upload various engineering documentation to the server
  • Prepare periodic reports depicting workload and status 
  • Work with engineering and operation customers through process and tool issues 
  • Update training and work instructions as needed 
  • Continuous improvement of the ECO process
  • Develop ECO and related ISO processes to scale with the business
  • Key player in the Rigaku Quality Management System

Requirements:

  • 2-year technical degree or equivalent relevant work experience 
  • Product Life Management experience 
  • Experience with Change Control Systems
  • Must have experience interpreting and editing mechanical drawing files (solid works preferred)
  • Must have experience with technical writing 
  • Must be able use Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Outlook, Access, PowerPoint, Word) proficiently 

The ideal candidate also should:

  • Have experience with SyteLine Version 10
  • Strong sense of team-oriented problem-solving techniques
  • Sensitivity to customer and business needs
  • Ability to communicate to all levels of an organization. 
  • Strong attention to detail 
  • Analytical problem-solving skills 
  • Ability to work individually on problems but recognize appropriate escalation timelines and methods.
