Elemental / phase analysis to molecular structure

X-ray diffraction (XRD) and X-ray fluorescence (XRF) are established analytical methods in drug discovery and production quality control. From identification of active ingredient (API) via traditional remedies or by serendipitous discovery to so-called "rational drug design," Rigaku has been on the forefront in the development of single crystal diffraction instruments and software for both macromolecular and small molecule structure determination. Many aspects of discovery, design, development and formulation processes require structural information acquired by X-ray diffraction techniques. Phase analysis and polymorph identification are common analytical needs within both pharmaceutical development and production. Rigaku offers a range of instruments and software solutions to ensure critical quality attributes (CQAs) and process parameters (CPPs) for regulated (FDA part11 compliant) and non-regulated environments. Rigaku products range from crystal diffraction screening and high-resolution data collection systems to 3D structure refinement and imaging software.

Handheld Material Analysis

The Rigaku Progeny 1064 nm handheld Raman analyzer transforms material analysis for pharmaceutical companies by integrating the most versatile tool into existing workflows. Progeny utilizes 1064 nm-based Raman spectroscopy enabling accurate analysis through packaging for raw material identification (RMID), verification of finished products, or authentication for anti-counterfeit prevention.
