Elemental / phase analysis to molecular structure

X-ray diffraction (XRD) and X-ray fluorescence (XRF) are established analytical methods in drug discovery and production quality control. From identification of active ingredient (API) via traditional remedies or by serendipitous discovery to so-called "rational drug design," Rigaku has been on the forefront in the development of single crystal diffraction instruments and software for both macromolecular and small molecule structure determination. Many aspects of discovery, design, development and formulation processes require structural information acquired by X-ray diffraction techniques.
